The beverage market is continuing to grow with the rate of growth increasing for the forecast period. Grain, nut, seed andrice milk alternative drinks (GNRS) is starting to show a limited presence in South Africa with no volumes being forecast for the Nigerian market. All dairy drinks along with GNRS are set to see an increase over the forecast period. Consumers are steadily becoming more aware of drinks sugar content and are starting to move away from sweeter drinks.

- Premium brands are set to see an increase, especially in packaged water

- Fruit powders growth is set to see a continued long decline throughout the forecast period

- Cider has a very niche presence in Nigeria but it is set to grow as more women start to drink it

- The growth of soymilk is much more limited in South Africa; it has a higher market penetration in Nigeria with higher growth rates for the forecast period
