CONVENTIONS FOR CITING E-MESSAGES
While writing this paper, I deliberated quoting E-mail and newsgroup
postings. After discussing this with Ms. Lucia Wright and with the people
quoted in this paper, I adopted the following rules:
RE: private E-mail:
No private E-mail was quoted without explicit permission from the author.
The author's last name and E-mail address was always deleted. The
author's first name was deleted if the author requested that. Any
mentions of E-mail addresses in mail was also deleted.
RE: newsgroups postings:
All E-mail addresses and last names were deleted. First names were
deleted upon request. If permission for quoting was not requested, the
date of posting was also deleted. Obviously phony E-mail addresses,
such as devil@hell.com were sometimes left in the text, for further
example of flamer technique.
THE END!!!!
