Good Morning AGMers! Welcome to AGM.NET! Yes, this page has been updated again after a long time. Although focused on the Alt.Good.Morning newsgroup, AGM long ago extended beyond the newsgroup and onto the World Wide Web. AGM can now be found in a multitude of places all over the 'net. The idea of AGM.NET, is to bring these disparate places on the 'net back under one roof, the home of AGM, using an Internet Domain to achieve this. In 1997, AGMers chose their favoured name, pledged and then donated the $100 necessary to get the project off the ground. What you see here has now been in place for about 18 months. Thank you especially to Sue who has been our enthusiastic Webmaster since the beginning, with a little bit of help here and there. Thank you to all those of you who have made donations previously. Unfortunately, the original donations were set aside simply for the domain registration, however, this is now only a small part of the whole, with bandwidth used by this WWW site and email being the major expense. Running costs are about UK £200 (that's US $ 320) a year. To date, Aouali and Roderick have been footing the bill for the bandwidth however this can't continue. The domain renewal is due in May 1999, and we must raise a minimum of UK £200 by then, otherwise the domain, web site and email facilities will all disappear. The preferred way is by
UK AGMers taking out AGM dial-up accounts, as regular subscriptions will
help to fund the long-term future of the facilities, however the difference
has to be found through donations.
If you are kind enough to make a donation, you will recieve an email address in the AGM.NET domain as a 'thank-you'. However, the idea of this address is that it is used by AGMers to find you easily - it is not intended to be your advertised or general purpose email address - if you do this and especially if you start to receive spam at the address you are effectively just pushing up the costs.
